August 19, 2012- Pat Sharpe is out to win his fourth straight Enduro championship at Speedway 660 and on Sunday afternoon he won his second Enduro 200 of the season to extend his points lead in the division. But it wasn’t an easy ride for the driver from Woodstock. Late in the race Sharpe was broad-sided by another car, but his crew worked its magic to get him back out on the track for the win.

“This crew is amazing, they are the ones who put the number 51 in the Speedway 660 Victory Lane today” said an excited Sharpe. “The old car is in bad shape right now, but we’ll get her fixed up and ready for the final Enduro 200 on SpeedWeekend.”

The Mercer boys, from Norton, had to settle for second place behind Pat Sharpe for the second time this season. Chuck and Cliff, who shared the driving duties, led the first 75 lap segment. Sharpe took over the lead in the second 75 laps and somehow managed to cross the stripe first to win the Enduro 200. Nathan Gallant, from Minto, finished third in the race.

“Our old Chevy Caprice is not looking so pristine now” said Cliff Mercer after the race. “I don’t know what we have to do to beat Pat, but we’ll back on SpeedWeekend to give it another shot.”

Next up at Speedway 660 is the Night of Champions and Fan Appreciation Night. Championships will be decided in all five racing divisions and there will be lots of prizes for the fans. Racing gets underway at 7PM, but fans are invited to come early for an autograph sessions with all the drivers and cars on the track.
