All of the 2016 Senoia Raceway points champions were crowned a few weeks ago. The top drivers in each division were honored at the track on Saturday, September 17th receiving awards and their point fund bonuses. Congrats to Clint 'Cat Daddy' Smith for his titles in the Super Late Models and Limited Late Models. He is the first two-time champion winning two track titles within the same season. Young Gun Marty Lunsford snared the points championship in the Crate Late Model division. Lunsford clinched the title in August with his first career victory at the 'Bull Ring'. Parrish Duncan successfully defended his title in the B Cadets. Duncan held off a late season charge by Bobby Arnold to win the title in the most heated points battle of the season. Randy Cornwell was the champion in the Hobby Stock division. Cornwell posted a strong first half of the season winning nine points races before the middle of June. In the Bomber division, Tim Harmon overtook Jim Jackson after the midway point of the year and never looked back winning the track championship. Another young gun, Jamie Nicholson, Jr. led the Mini Stock points chase from the drop of the green in April until the drop of the checkered in September to win his first championship. Nicholson, Jr. will now move on to campaign a B Cadet car at the Fall Brawl and Showdown. Congrats to all of the season champions!
