It has been an amazing journey since we took over the operation of Senoia Raceway. We have enjoyed seeing the renewed excitement for short track racing in our area. There is a growing enthusiasm for the track and that is due largely to the fact that the racing has been AWESOME! We expect that competition to continue with the return of the Southern All-Stars Tour. It has been three decades since this regional super late model tour has visited Senoia Raceway. The series will headline the Billy Clanton Classic onSaturday, May 14th. See more information in this newsletter. We are excited to bring this great series back to the bull ring and are even more excited to watch them compete on the 'Gumbo'!!!

See you at the 'Bull Ring'!

It has been three decades since the Southern All-Star Dirt Late Models have competed at Senoia Raceway. Saturday, May 14th the popular regional tour will headline the 2nd Annual Billy Clanton Classic. The 50-lap main event will pay $5,025 to win and $400 to start. Defending race champion, Shane Clanton of Zebulon, will return to defend the title in the race honoring his father's legacy at the 3/8ths mile 'Bull Ring'.
Clanton battled to a runner-up finish against South Carolina's Chris 'Smokey' Madden in the April 'Spring Nationals' tilt. The two battled side by side for the final two circuits with Clanton leaning heavily on Madden as the two crossed the finish line only a foot apart. Both drivers gave the track great reviews and were raving over the new 'gumbo' clay surface.

The Southern All-Stars Tour is jam-packed with driving talent and will give the defending Craftsman Tools World of Outlaws champion plenty of competition to claim the checkers. Tennessee's Brad Skinner and Riley Hickman lead the series points (prior to May 7th race event). Neither of the Volunteer state wheelmen have visited Senoia Raceway. Toccoa, Georgia's Casey Roberts had a victory last season at the 'Bull Ring', but has not competed on the new 'gumbo' clay surface. Other Southern All-Star Tour points leaders expected to compete at the event include Brandon Overton (won at Senoia Raceway in April), Dale McDowell, Jordy Nipper and Chris Ferguson.
