    UFo/STARS “Topless 50” at Tyler County Set for May 21. UFo Attacks Clinton County & Dog Hollow May 27-29!

    (Mars, PA) Tyler County Speedway will attempt the UFo/AMRA-STARS “Topless 50” SuperNova for the second time on Saturday night, May 21. The following weekend, the UFo Semi-Lates will invade Clinton County Motor Speedway for the first time ever on Friday, May 27. Then on Sunday, May 29, the “Shawn McGarvey Championship” SuperNova wil feature the UFo Super Lates and Semi-Lates in a massive holiday program.

    The UFo Championship will now fly south for its first West Virginia event of the 2016 season on Saturday, May 21. The UFo/STARS “Topless 50” will be a SuperNova event featuring both the powerful Super Late Models and mighty Semi-Lates (steel block/limited/crate late models). The UFo Championship will clash with the new STARS/AMRA Super Late Models in this unique co-tour event.

    The UFo/STARS Super Late Models will race 50 laps for $3,000 to win, $300 to start with $150 for non-qualifiers. The Semi-Late payoff has been boosted to $1,400 to win, $145 to start with $100 for non-qualifiers for the 35 lap championship. Tyler County will also use an open compound tire rule for both classes. E-mods, Hot-Mods, Mod-Lites, 4-Cylinders and Mini-Wedges will complete the program

    Both divisions will race topless. It is permitted for race teams seal off the roll cage halo with sheet metal. Tyler County will use open tire compound rules in both divisions. Tyler County requires Westhold (yellow) transponders. Drivers are reminded that they are only permitted to compete in one UFo division on any one night. All UFo Super Late Model and Semi-Late rules and weights will apply for the “Topless 50.”

    UFo Semi-Late rules will be in effect with an exception in the 2,400 weight category for Tyler County. 602/604 crate motor cars may weigh 2,200 and use a 12” spoiler and side spoilers, as well as a 4” x 32” nose spillboard with a 1” ridge across the top. All 2,350 A and S 360 c.i. limited motor category rules (no roller cam, stock stroke, stock angle steel heads with headwork limits, flat top pistons, steel rods etc.) will be in effect. For Tyler County only, the 2,400 weight category will permit any steel block/head motor up to 430 c.i. The 2,450 weight category will allow steel block, aluminum head cars.

    At the STARS/UFo “Topless 50,” admission will be $20 grandstands and $35 pits. Children ages 10 and under are free in the grandstands and 5 and under are free in the pits. Super Late Models will have a $25 entry fee and Semi-Lates will have a $15 entry fee, deducted from final payoff. Gates will open at 4 PM with Mini-Wedge racing at 6 PM and warm-ups at 6:30. Racing will follow the completion of warm-ups.

    The new management team has made many improvements to the Clinton County Motor Speedway including a wider racing surface with improved banking. Clinton County will hold their first touring event on Friday, May 27. The UFo “I-80 Comet” will pay $1,000 to win for the 33 lap Semi-Late championship event.

    Pro-Stocks, 270 Micro Sprints and 4-Cylinders will also be on the racing program. Race times, admission prices and transponder requirements will be announced shortly. Regular UFo Semi-Late rules will apply for this event. Semi-Lates must use American Racer 44 or harder or Hoosier 15/1300 or harder with a minimum punch of 36. UFo Semi-Lates will have a $15 entry fee deducted from the final payoff.

    Dog Hollow Speedway achieved the highest Super Late Model car count in the region in 2015 with their UFo finale, and an excellent field of cars is anticipated for the UFo “Shawn McGarvey Championship” on Sunday, May 29. This will be the first of at least three UFo SuperNova events at Dog Hollow featuring both the UFo Super Late Models and Semi-Lates.

    Dog Hollow has cranked it up and increased their payoff from last year for this event. The UFo Super Late Models will pay $4,000 to win, $300 to start and $150 for non-qualifiers for the 48 lap championship. The UFo Semi-Lates will pay $1,000 to win, $140 to start and $100 for non-qualifiers for their 33 lap championship. The Cadets (street), Pure Stocks and Sidewinders will also be in action.

    At Dog Hollow on May 29, pit gates will open at 3:30, grandstands at 4:30, pill draw will end at 5:20 with the drivers meeting at5:30. Late model warm-ups will start at 6:00 and racing will begin after that, at approximately 6:30. Grandstand admission is only $20, seniors 60+ $17, junior 13-17 $10, children 7-12 $5. All pit tickets will be $35. Super Late Models will have a $25 entry fee and Semi-Lates will have a $15 entry fee, deducted from final payoff.

    At Dog Hollow, both the Super Late Models and Semi-Lates will use an open-compound tire rule, with all rule book tire specifications in effect. Regular UFo Semi-Late rules will apply for that division. Drivers may compete in only one UFo late model division at this event.

    The Diehl Automotive UFo “Herb Scott Championship” has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 11 and will honor the Pittsburgh-area racing icon. This will mark the return of the UFo Super Late Models at Dirt’s Monster Half-Mile, for the first time since 2012. The 35 lap UFo Super Late Model championship will pay $3,000 to the winner, $300 to start and $150 for non-qualifiers. The starting grid at PPMS will be based on car count up to a 30 car starting field. A standard 24-car starting grid will be the minimum number of cars to start the feature. If the total car count hits 30 cars, two more feature positions will be added for a total of 26 cars. For 35 cars, 28 will start and for 39 cars, 30 will start.

    RUSH Crate Late Models, Sportsman, Hobby Stocks and Young Gun 4-cylinders will also be on the racing program. PPMS will use will required American Racer 44 or harder or Hoosier 15/1300 or harder tires with a 36 minimum punch at their UFo events. PPMS requires AMB (red) transponders.

    On May 14 at PPMS, gates will open at 5 PM with warm-ups at 6 PM and racing at 7 PM. Admission will be $25 grandstands, seniors 60+ $24, juniors 13-16 $15, children 6-12 $5, and pits $40. Reserved parking is available for $10 extra. UFo Super Late Models will have a $25 entry fee deducted from the final payoff.
