Hollywood, Fla. ”“ Performance Tech Motorsports announced the addition of Rodin Younessi and Raphael Matos, 2009 INDYCAR Rookie of the Year, to the team’s driver lineup for the 2012 Baltimore Sports Car Challenge presented by SRT.

Sharing driving responsibilities in the team’s No. 18 Prototype Challenge car, Matos brings more than a decade of championship driving experience ,and Rodin Younessi with his Indy Lites experience brings depth to the Performance Tech team.

Matos’ previous titles include the 2008 Firestone Indy Lights, 2008 Rolex 24 GT class, 2007 ChampCar Atlantic Championship, 2005 Star Mazda Pro Series Championship, 2003 Formula Dodge National Championship.

“Rodin is well suited for the PC car and proved it recently running over 250 miles at PBIR, getting up to speed quickly,” said crew chief Frank Parzych. “This is a new experience for Rodin, running endurance races with a teammate and having to compromise a bit of set up for both drivers. But we believe Rodin is up for task.” *

“With Rafa as his teammate for Baltimore we will have the car up to speed quickly,” explained Brent O’Neill, Performance Tech Motorsports owner/manager. *

“I'm extremely excited to be back at Baltimore racing for Performance Tech,” added Matos. “I drove their PC car at Sebring a few months ago and was very impressed with the car's performance. I felt very comfortable within only a few laps. I’m looking forward to helping Younessi with my feedback, to make sure we tune the car comfortably for the both of us, which is very important.” *

Younessi explained, “The PC car was very comfortable to drive and the setup the Performance Tech crew had on the car got me up to speed quickly. I have never driven on the Michelin tires. They were very consistent during the entire test, which was a pleasure. I drove at Baltimore last year and really enjoy the track. I look forward to a good result with the Performance Tech Team.”

O’Neill closed the session by describing his excitement for this year’s Baltimore race: “As we build for 2013, we are very excited to add Rodin to our driver lineup, and the entire team is excited about Baltimore.”
