Pro All Stars Series President, Tom Mayberry has announced that there will be a new handicapping system in place for the 2014 racing season for the PASS Sportsman division. “In best interest of competition, we are going to implement the same handicapping system that we use with the PASS Super Late Models into the PASS Sportsman division for 2014, stated Mayberry. We feel that this system will help even out the field and make for better racing for both the drivers and for the fans alike. Fans enjoy seeing some of the top cars coming from back in the pack, and have to race their way to the front of the field!” The new handicapping system will allow cars to be lined up in the feature event from the order that they finished in the qualifying heat, with the big exception that once you win a race, you can’t start any better than eleventh in the feature no matter where you qualified in the preliminary rounds. As the season progresses, this system will force the top cars to charge from deeper in the field making racing much more intense for the racers and fans as well. This new handicapping system will go into effect at the opening PASS Sportsman event which is scheduled for Saturday, April 12th at 2pm at Oxford Plains Speedway. The opening day event will include the PASS Super Late Models, PASS Sportsman and PASS Mods, as well as the NELCAR Legends.
