Two weeks into the 2014 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series season at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway, and the early-season point battles are already beginning to take shape.

Beech Ridge Motor Speedway's 66th season continues this Saturday night, June 7, at 7 p.m. The Pro Series, Sport Series and Wildcat divisions will be back on track to try and give a little more shape and structure to the proceedings.

Brian Caswell continues to be the car to beat in the Wildcat ranks, having thoroughly dominated the competition through the first two weeks. However, multi-time champion Cole Watson returned closer to form last week, and David Vaughn and Justin Karkos remain championship threats.

It's wide open in the Sport Series division, where Bobby Nadeau has staked out to an early lead. Rookie Brandon Barker had been impressive through two weeks -- but Clyde Hennessey, Garrett Hall and Sally Gherardi aren't far behind. In the Pro Series, Corey Bubar used the strength of his Opening Night win to forge a lead, but Dan McKeage, Dave Farrington Jr. and Bobby Timmons III are all in close range.

With handicapping playing a more significant role as the weeks move on, it only gets more intense headed into this weekend.

Beech Ridge Motor Speedway is Maine's only NASCAR-sanctioned short track. In addition to the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, which competes from May through September each season, the track hosts the 10-week Thursday Thunder series from June through August, and Car Wars on Friday nights in August.

LAST TIME OUT: Caswell 2-For-2 In 2014

Brian Caswell bested teammate Gary Babineau in the 30-lap Wildcat feature last Saturday night -- giving him wins in the first two events of the 2014 season.

Caswell became the first driver since 2010 to win each of the first two races to start the season.

"To be honest with you, the outside groove was where to be," Caswell said. "Everybody was kind of stuck down on the bottom, and I tried it -- but it wasn't very good for me. So I stayed up high and had a very good lane."

Tyler King rebounded from engine woes in Week 1 to cruise to a dominant feature win in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Pro Series division.

Frank Wear won the 35-lap Sport Series main event. Wear, who held off Rob Herrick on a late restart, has now won two of the last three Sport Series features at the track dating back to the end of last season.
