Summer Arrives With A Busy Week At Beech Ridge

While it won't officially be summer for another week, the hottest season of the year begins in earnest tomorrow night.

Beech Ridge Motor Speedway's 66th season continues hits its busiest stretch with a pair of can't-miss events -- the return of the 10-week Thursday Thunder series this Thursday night, June 12, at 7 p.m., followed by the Sport Series Budweiser 125 this Saturday night, June 14, at 7 p.m. The Budweiser 125 is the longest race of the season for one of the post competitive support divisions anywhere along the East Coast.

If last week's tuneup for the Sport Series was any indication, the Budweiser 125 won't fail to deliver on excitement. A number of incidents at the front of the field cranked the intensity level through the roof, and a number of drivers will not only be looking to take the win in the division's premier event -- but they might also be looking to settle one or two scores in the process.

Garrett Hall won last week's dramatic 35-lap Sport Series feature, and his patience likely makes him a contender for the victory. Bobby Nadeau and Frank Wear also have feature wins early in 2014. Sally Gherardi and rookie Brandon Baker have had strong cars, and the extra-distance might be just what they need to climb all the way to the top spot.

Before we get to Saturday night, though, the popular Thursday Thunder series gets back on track tomorrow. With the Mad Bombers, Beetle Bugs, Mighty Trucks, Ladies and NELCAR Legends -- it's an action-packed two hours at an affordable price. Just $4 gets you and adult grandstand ticket to the fastest two hours in motorsports.

Beech Ridge Motor Speedway is Maine's only NASCAR-sanctioned short track. In addition to the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, which competes from May through September each season, the track hosts the 10-week Thursday Thunder series from June through August, and Car Wars on Friday nights in August.
