NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Pro Series rookie Kyle DeSouza of East Providence, R.I., led every lap of last Saturday's 50-lap feature event for his first career victory at Beech Ridge.

DeSouza steered clear of the rough-and-tumble struggles for position that were taking place behind him to easily cruise to the win.

"I don't even know what to say," DeSouza said in Victory Lane. "(Crew chief) T.J. Brackett just never gave up, and here we are."

Garrett Hall, a perennial championship contender, emerged victorious in the 35-lap Sport Series event for his first victory of 2014. Hall, who was buried deep in the back half of the Top-10 with less than half the distance remaining, benefited from a couple of incidents that collected early race leaders to storm to the front.

Brian Caswell became just the second driver in the last 20 years at Beech Ridge to open a season with three consecutive wins when he won the 30-lap Wildcat feature.

Caswell has won the last four Wildcat events dating back to last season.
