Our sport lost a true friend and racing legend this week with the passing of 2008 Maple Grove Raceway Walk of Fame inductee, Roger Gustin. Gustin was a pioneer of the highly popular jet cars we all have come to enjoy over the years. He was instrumental in working with NHRA to formulate rules and procedures to bring jet car exhibition vehicles approved for all NHRA member tracks. He took over ownership of Autostar Productions and was the guiding force behind the success of the popular Super Chevy Show across the country. His vision helped grow the company into a major touring series running events from coast to coast. Gustin sold the series in 2009 to a group of track owners, which Maple Grove Raceway is part of the group. The series continues today with a total of 12 events spread across the country.
