It was a cool but calm night at the Miller Central Speedway for South Dakota Wheat Growers Night. Fifty-eight cars were in the pits and the track was in prime shape.

The feature races started off with the Pump N Pak Pure Stocks. Jordan Rawstern grabbed the lead on the start, but a yellow with four laps complete brought the field to his bumper. On the restart, Kyle Elsen and Mike Hammill split Rawstern high and low on the backstretch and by turn four Hammill had the lead. Elsen was all over Mike and made the pass for the win with 2 laps to go, winning his seventh feature at the Speedway over Hammill, Rawstern, Brandon Hammill and Tyler Kolda. The win ties him with Michael Hammill for fifth on the list.

The WISSOTA Street Stocks were next. Broc Stout took the lead on the start with Blayne Baloun breathing down his neck, never giving an inch. Then suddenly with 3 laps to go Baloun made his move and won over Stout, Preston Blackwell, Kyle Bertsch and Ryan Pommerer. It was Blayne's 29th feature win. He is now fifth on the All Divisions feature win list.

The WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds rolled out sixteen strong with James Reiners leading the first 2 laps before Lorin Johnson swept past. Lorin won his 63rd feature in the class over Adam Brotherton, Lane Johnson, Cole DeJong and Jaymie Peterson. It was a nice clean race with only two DNFs, as the MW Mod drivers are shaking off the rust.

The WISSOTA Modified feature looked to be an upset early with Justin Boomsma leading early and trying to run away. Tyler McDonald caught and passed him on the eighth lap. There was a caution with two laps to go bringing Tyler's dad David McDonald to his bumper, but Tyler ran away and hid on the green, white, checker restart, winning his fifth feature over Dad, Dale Ames, Duke Erickson and Nick Grehl.

The WISSOTA Super Stocks looked to be a yawner with Cole Searing on the front row. He led until a yellow with 10 laps complete. He still led, but as they came out of turn four to complete lap 11, Cole's rear end locked up and he spun with the whole field right behind him. The first two cars missed, but Chris Walker had nowhere to go and hit Cole's nose with the whole right side of his car, knocking out the radiator and doing major damage. Walker restarted with the side of his car caved in between the wheels. Trevor Nelson lead the rest of the way, and finally succeeded in winning at a track where his dad never won. He was followed by Jeremy North, Walker and Caleb Yost.

The WISSOTA Late Models capped off the night. On the first start, Chad Becker got a great jump and moved into second, but there was a yellow before a lap was complete. On the restart, Brian Diede got the great start while Becker had to claw his way up from fourth. Chad never got a yellow and Diede won his fourth feature at the speedway over Becker, Pat Weisgram, Dustin Arthur and Thomas Weisgram.

There will be no races next weekend. The racing shifts to Sunday nights starting June 11. Starting time is always 7:00 PM.
